Here at Phones 4u we know that buying a mobile phone can quite often be a confusing experience, we have listed 10 of the most common questions that our customers ask us. 1. Can I port my existing number to my new phone? |
You can keep your existing mobile phone number from your current pay as you go or contract phone when purchasing a new mobile package from Phones4.co.uk depending on which network you want to transfer to. If you are unsure of your eligibility to port then please use our porting guide.
We currently only support number porting when transferring to T-mobile, Orange, Three, Virgin and BT Mobile, but not Vodafone or O2.
To keep your existing mobile phone number all you need to do is follow these simple steps:
1) Place your order on our website
2) Contact your existing network provider to request your PAC (Porting Authorisation Code)
3) Contact your new network provider on the appropriate number below and quote your temporary number (the number your new phone is registered to), your existing number that you want to keep and the PAC.

2. What if my phone is not connected? |
Your handset should be connected within 48 hours of you receiving it by post. If you receive your phone after 1pm on a Friday or Saturday, please allow up to the following Tuesday morning for it to be connected.
However, if your handset is still unconnected after the above stated time, please fill in the following form (CLICK HERE) or contact our Web Customer Services Team on 0870 905 0416.

3. I have locked my handset as a result of entering the wrong pin number. |
You should contact your network provider to get a PUK code to unlock the handset. The network numbers to call are as follows:

4. When will you deliver? |
Buy any contract, pay as you go (PAYG) or SIM Free mobile phone from us by 13.00 Monday to Friday and we will guarantee that you will receive your order by 13.00 the following day!
Orders placed on Saturday and Sunday will be delivered on Tuesday*.
Please note that we can not deliver on a bank holiday, however we will endeavour to deliver on the next official working day.

5. How do I redeem my Cheque Back? |
You may redeem your Cheque Back by following these simple steps:
We will endeavour to process your cheque within 30 days of receiving all the documents, subject to your claim being successful.
Phones 4u's Cheque Back promotion is a Phones 4u offer and is separate from the contract agreed between you and your chosen network airtime provider.

6. Can I have my goods delivered to an alternative address? |
We only deliver to the registered address of the card holder. We realise this may inconvenience some people, but by doing this we are confident that we are helping to reduce credit card crime.

7. What happens if I am not in when Royal Mail attempt delivery? |
If no one is available to sign for the product, a card will be left and the parcel held at the local Royal Mail Depot for you to collect. Parcels will be held for 10 days before they are returned to Phones 4u. Please call the number specified on the card if you wish to re-arrange delivery, collect from your local Post Office or to re-direct the parcel to an alternative address.

8. Why can I only add one phone to my basket? |
As part of phones4u's commitment to security, we limit the amount of handsets sold per order to one. This is so that we can help reduce the levels of credit card fraud, and reduce delays for genuine customers. If you wish to order more than one handset you will need to place another order online.

9. Where is my FREE gift? |
Your FREE gift will be authorised for despatch 28 days after the delivery of your handset subject to connection to your chosen network and your handset not being returned under the 7-day peace of mind guarantee. Please allow up to 7 days for delivery of this item.

10. What if my product is faulty? |
Fortunately, this doesn't happen very often. If for some reason, your chosen product does not work or has been damaged, you can return it to us for a refund or replacement. The following explains your options:
Less than 28 days after your date of receipt (14 days on the 3 network)All you need to do is contact the Web Customer Services Team, who will arrange for the return or refund of the phone (and/or accessories) at no extra charge to you. Once we have received the returned goods in their original packaging, we will arrange for a replacement product or refund to be sent to you. Unfortunately we will not be able to offer an exchange if there is any accidental or physical damage to the returned item. We can, however, arrange a repair for you.

More than 28 days after receipt of your goods (14 days on the 3 network*)All our products are supported by a full 12-month manufacturer's warranty. If your phone develops a fault within the first 12 months, we are pleased to arrange for the return of your phone at no extra cost to you for repair at our authorised repair centre.
Please note that where possible faulty phones should be taken to your local Phones 4u high street store. To make arrangements for the repair of your phone, if this is not possible please contact our Web Customer Services team at web.orders@phones4u.co.uk or call them on 0870 9050416 (Monday to Friday 9am-6pm, Saturday 10-4pm).
Please note that some faults are not covered by the manufacturer's warranty, for example accidental & liquid damage. Be aware that damp atmospheres & extreme changes in temperature (e.g. leaving your phone in a car overnight) may cause problems with liquid damage. Your statutory rights are not affected.
